About Us.
My dad always loved the East Coast and it was back in 2006, while searching for the perfect location for a holiday home, that he stumbled across the ‘building site’ that was to become The Bay Filey. My dad was fascinated by the concept and quickly signed up to buy a property off-plan.
A year or so after taking the keys to our property, my dad decided to buy 2 more properties to use as holiday lets so others could enjoy this glorious location. Unfortunately, after only a couple of years, my dad sadly passed away from cancer, just a couple of months after retirement, and he never got to relax and enjoy Filey.
So the baton passed to me & my husband. After a few rocky years, we met Paula and Sea Air Apartment & Sea Esta Cottage were re-introduced to the rental market under Filey Bay Direct. We have worked hard over the years and we have invested to keep the properties in the best condition possible.
This can sometimes be hard, because no matter how much you prepare, things will always go wrong in ways you don’t expect, and it only takes one ‘reckless’ guest to throw a curveball. However, we try to check on things regularly and maintain them to a high standard, just as my dad would have wanted.
Our son has been brought up spending school holidays on The Bay Filey, and we all still love spending time in the area including my mum who still often joins us. We know more owners of cafes in Filey than at home! And it is now our son who has made this website and helps with the social media.
Filey, with its old-fashioned town and glorious stretch of sandy beach, really is addictive. Every time we get home, we count down the days until we return. It doesn’t matter which season, we enjoy a walk on the beach into Filey, a visit to Bridlington to walk north to Danes Dyke or south to Fraisthorpe, watching the seals at Flamborough, geocaching inland in pretty villages, or a trip to the Spa Theatre in Scarborough, the list goes on.
We look forward to spending many more years here and showcasing the best of England to you!

We found the actual location of this property perfect, with just a 5-minute walk to most of the amenities on the site. Just a 10-minute walk to the stunning beach, and for us, one of the nicest coastlines we’ve been to in the UK.
