A traditional British seaside resort, Bridlington has a long and fairly flat promenade going all the way from Sewerby to the South Beach. There are long stretches of beach at both sides. You can walk either on the beach or cliff top from Sewerby to Danes Dyke. In the middle you’ll find the harbour where you can take a boat ride, enjoy fairground rides and find lots of options to eat and drink. There is a park and ride at the South Side and you walk along the glorious beach to Fraisthorpe. If walking is not your thing, there are two land trains that cover most of the promonade. For dull weather days, you can visit the John Bull Rock factory & see traditional rock being made.

This forest is perfect for walking and cycling enthusiasts, plus Go Ape is situated in Dalby Forest, making this a perfect day for all the family. We always like to take a picnic as there are lots of secret picnic areas.

Danes Dyke is a local nature reserve which leads down to one of the finest stretches of coastland on the East coast. The car park is pay & display and there are toilets. There are a few lovely walks and you can’t believe you are so close to the sea.

For walking lovers, you can walk along the coastline between the landings taking in the unspoilt nature as you walk. North Landing features a beautiful beach beneath dramatic cliffs.

Choose between visiting Flamborough Head, the nature reserve at the south landing or the pretty coves at the north landing. The dramatic chalk cliffs boast a hive of nature and wildlife. For seafood lovers the Boathouse Burger & Grill has daily specials, and they have become famous for their lobster. Flamborough’s oldest lighthouse was built over 300 years ago.

The South Bay has something for everyone. From the pretty South Cliff Gardens, to Amusement Arcades, the famous Harbour Bar, Boat rides and fairground rides in Luna Park right next to the harbour. A more traditional seaside experience.

Scarborough has a 400 year history as a holiday resort and has everything you'd expect from a bustling seaside town.
The North Marine Drive joins the North Bay to the South Side and is a great, exhilarating walk if you’re up to the challenge or hop on a open top bus.
There are lots of places to eat and drink and of course lots of fish and chip shops (our personal favourite being the Lifeboat Fish Bar). The North has the famous Peasholm Park, worth exploring any time of the year. Look out for the brightly coloured beach huts in both bays! For those who struggle to walk there are 2 cliff lifts in the South Bay.

One of our favourite days out near Bridlington. Explore the beautiful house and gardens, visit the friendly animals and enjoy fantastic views overlooking the coast. We could spend a whole day around the north end of Bridlington and Sewerby. We recommend parking in either Limekiln Lane Car Park or Sewerby (Picinic) Car Park as these have lots of spaces and are perfect for a picnic.

The South Cliff Gardens are a historic cliffside park featuring restored Italian gardens, scenic walking paths & panoramic sea views. There is now a childrens play area, toilets and this is where the Clock Cafe is situated. Our favourite spot for relaxation.
